Con Cuong, September 22, 2023 – Save Vietnam’s Wildlife (SVW), in collaboration with Pu Mat national park, Con Cuong Department of Education and Training, Anh Son Department of Education and Training, and Tuong Duong Department of Education and Training successfully organized the launching workshop: Education Program of the nature and wildlife conservation, phase 2023 – 2025. This program is the next step of Education Program of the nature and wildlife conservation, phase 2021 – 2022. With the participation of nearly 50 delegates, the workshop marked the beginning of exciting series of upcoming activities.
Ms. Nguyen Ngoc Lan, Deputy Director of Save Vietnam’s Wildlife, stated at the workshop: “In its comprehensive strategy and action plan, SVW is honored to have the trust and coordination with many National Parks. Which, we have been accompanied by Pu Mat national park since 2018. The coordination of all parties is extremely valuable to contribute diversity of nature and wildlife. We hope that in the future, both units will create more achievements together and will have the companionship of many parties to support conservation work.”

Mr. Nguyen Dien Quang, representative of Pu Mat national park shared: ” To overcome conservation challenges, we have collaborated with various organizations to bring positive impacts on nature and wildlife protection in Pu Mat forest. SVW is a strategic cooperation unit and has coordinated closely with the Park since 2018 on many practical activities. He shared more: In particular, education – raising awareness of the buffer zone community, especially pupils – the next generation, are extremely important to protect Pu Mat national park in a sustainable way. We are so proud that in 2021 – 2022, we coordinated with SVW, Con Cuong Department of Education and Training to successfully organize the Education Program to raise awareness of nature and wildlife conservation in Pu Mat due to the time of Covid-19. We are even more excited when the Program continues to be expanded to all three buffer zone districts: Anh Son, Con Cuong, and Tuong Duong.”

Accordingly, the Education program implemented with 5 components. The program has received more than 100 teachers under Con Cuong Education and Training Department participated to raise awareness and give experience opportunities to 6,194 students of 20 primary and secondary schools. As results, the program helped children realize the importance of forest and wildlife to community living. According to statistics after the program, about 98% of the children surveyed affirmed that when they grow up, they will not choose a career that requires them to rely on the forest.
Mr. Le Thanh An, the head of Con Cuong Department of Education and Training shared his thoughts during collaboration: “In response to the Government’s directions and policies, Con Cuong Education & Training Department had coordinated with relevant units to encourage pupils and teachers to become the core force in protecting nature. They had proven their youth through propaganda to more than 5,000 households. We are extremely proud of the efforts and results achieved and commit to working closely with Pu Mat national park and Save Vietnam’s Wildlife to implement plans and upcoming activities.”
Continuing the success, the Education Program of nature and wildlife conservation includes 07 components that implementing throughout the two school years 2023 – 2024 and 2024 – 2025. The program will implement for 16 schools in the buffer zone of Pu Mat national park of Anh Son, Con Cuong and Tuong Duong. 7 main activities include: Survey facilities of school; Build a core team to protect Pu Mat forest including forest rangers, anti-poaching of SVW, and teachers; Conservation event “Our pride, our Pu Mat”; “Join me to protect Pu Mat forest” Club; Implement projects to raise pupil and community awareness by the core team; Building an educational program to experience nature; Experience nature.
Mr. Nguyen Minh Duc, Deputy Department of Education and Training of Anh Son district shared: “We expressed our support and happy to be one of 5 parties coordinating to implement the Education Program of nature and wildlife conservation of Pu Mat national park. As educators, we are honored to be part of this meaningful program. The school principals and teachers from Phuc Son school will actively contribute to the success of the program and provide a joyful educational environment for our students and future generations.”
