On March 30-31, 2024, at the Meeting Hall C in Cat Tien National Park, Save Vietnam’s Wildlife (SVW) collaborated with Cat Tien National Park to organize a “Specialized Training on the Application of SMART Mobile and Forest Protection Patrol Skills for Community Contracted Forest Protection Forces in Cat Tien National Park.”
The purpose of the training is to:
(1) Provide knowledge about Cat Tien National Park and biodiversity conservation to the contracted community members, enhancing their understanding and fostering a greater love for the forest and nature, actively engaging them in forest protection.
(2) Train and equip the community-contracted forest protection forces with necessary skills in patrol work to enhance the effectiveness of forest management and protection efforts in Cat Tien National Park.
During the two-day training, nearly 100 people participated, including 77 trainees who were team leaders, deputy team leaders, and members of the community-contracted forest protection forces from villages within the buffer zone of the national park.
The program was successfully conducted with active participation and lively interaction among the trainees. The key, in-depth, and practical content shared during the training contributed significantly to forest management and protection efforts.
