Over a 10-year journey, SVW has been honored to receive support and companionship from numerous long-standing domestic and international partners and donors, including the Welttierschutzgesellschaft (WTG).
During almost 10 years, we have worked closely with WTG to deploy several conservation projects. A notable collaboration took place in 2023, when we successfully established the Vietnam Wildlife Rescue Network. This is a collective effort of SVW, WTG and partners aimed at promoting cooperation, sharing knowledge, and improving capabilities for wildlife rescue work.
With the support of WTG and our partners, SVW has achieved significant success during our partnership. The following provides examples of our achievements:
Established the Vietnam Wildlife Rescue Network and the Development of an Action Plan for 2023-2024.
Organized workshop “One Health – Procedures and standards for preventing disease transmission in wildlife rescue units”.
Conducted extensive research and analysis on the deficiencies of Decree 06/2019/ND-CP and collaborated with the CITES Management Authority and the Drafting Committee in drafting the new Decree and incorporating Wildlife Rescue Network’s recommendations consistently throughout the process.
Continued to support the veterinarian team with capacity building focused on expanding the team’s technical skills and knowledge.
Provided upgrades and equipment for the Vet Clinic.
Revised and developed species-specific guidelines for sedation, general anesthesia, hand rearing, and postmortem procedures.
Organized 2 training courses for 18 keepers from rescue centers across Viet Nam.
