THE MASKED PALM CIVET

about HOA

Hoa – From Captivity to an “Animal Educational Ambassador”

In May 2025, Hoa – one of 230 masked palm civets rescued from two illegal breeding farms in Lang Son – was found weak and severely malnourished.

Thanks to the dedicated care at Save Vietnam’s Wildlife, Hoa gradually regained strength. However, after years in captivity, Hoa lost the survival skills needed to return to the wild. Today, Hoa takes on a new role as an “Education Ambassador”, helping raise awareness about the protection of wildlife.

The name Hoa carries a special meaning: a symbol of peace and freedom from chains.

We hope Hoa’s story will inspire the community to protect masked palm civets and put an end to the cruel wildlife farming industry.
