About Save Vietnam’s Wildlife (SVW)
Save Vietnam’s Wildlife (SVW) is a non-public science and technology organization established in 2014 under the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations, licensed by the Ministry of Science and Technology.
Since SVW was founded in July 2014, we have developed long-term conservation program. Most of our resources are spent working on the ground to save animals from illegal trade, protecting our recognised wildlife strongholds and continuing to monitor released individual and wild populations. There are 3 main fields we are working on: Species Conservation, Site Protection and Community Engagement.
Position summary
The Fundraising Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing SVW’s overall fundraising strategy, with a focus on mobilizing financial resources through partnerships with both domestic and international stakeholders.
This role plays a key part in identifying and developing funding opportunities, developing and managing project proposals tailored to different donors, as well as maintaining and expanding long-term relationships with strategic partners.
In addition, the Fundraising Manager ensures that SVW’s mission, activities, and impact are communicated consistently, clearly, and effectively to donors and key stakeholders.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Fundraising strategy and Partnership development
- Develop and implement SVW’s overall fundraising strategy (short-term and long-term);
- Diversify funding sources, including: Domestic companies and corporate social responsibility programs (CSR, ESG, campaign sponsorships); International organizations, conservation funds, and development funds; Individual donors and other funding sources;
- Proactively identify, approach, and develop relationships with companies, organizations, and partner networks in Vietnam and internationally;
- Collaborate to design appropriate partnership models such as sponsorships, CSR programs, co-branded campaigns, or joint initiatives;
- Maintain and regularly update a pipeline of potential funding opportunities;
- Prepare materials, presentations, and directly present partnership proposals to partners;
- Design partnership models such as project funding, co-funding, campaign partnerships, or long-term sponsorships;
- Ensure achievement of the organization’s annual fundraising targets.
2. Proposal development
- Lead or directly develop funding proposals for corporate and institutional donors;
- Tailor proposals to meet the requirements, priorities, and criteria of different donors;
- Manage the full proposal development cycle, from concept development, proposal writing, submission, feedback, revision, to finalization;
- Track and ensure timely preparation and submission of proposals and reports in accordance with donor requirements.
3. Donor management and Reporting
- Maintain communication and develop relationships with existing donors;
- Ensure donor reports are prepared accurately, on time, and meet required quality standards;
- Develop communication materials to support fundraising and donor engagement, including organizational profiles, project information, and impact content for domestic and international partners;
- Prepare periodic reports, progress updates, and impact stories for donors, ensuring clarity, timeliness, and accuracy;
- Participate in events, workshops, and donor engagement activities as needed to strengthen partnerships.
4. Communications supporting fundraising
- Collaborate on the development and implementation of communication activities that support fundraising and partnership development objectives;
- Work with media and communication partners to support fundraising activities when necessary.
5. Team coordination and support
- Work closely with program teams to ensure fundraising activities are aligned with project implementation realities and the organization’s actual needs;
- Support internal capacity building in proposal writing and the development of communication materials for fundraising and partnership purposes.
6. Expected result
This position will be evaluated based on the following key outcomes:
- Achieve and/or exceed annual fundraising targets as approved;
- Expand and diversify the donor base, including domestic and international partners Successfully secure new funding through projects, programs, and proposals;
- Improve donor retention rates and increase repeat funding from existing partners;
- Ensure quality, transparency, and timeliness of donor reporting;
- Effectively lead and manage the fundraising, ensuring performance, coordination, and capacity development.
Requirements
- Fluency in English is required
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in relevant fields such as business, international development, marketing or related disciplines;
- Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in one or more of the following areas: fundraising/resource mobilization, partnership development, proposal/grant writing, communications, or strategic marketing;
- Experience working with corporate partners is an advantage;
- Strong strategic thinking and ability to build and maintain long-term partnerships;
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively under tight deadlines;
- Preference for candidates with experience in environmental, conservation, or sustainable development sectors;
- Strong proposal writing and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate ideas clearly and persuasively;
- Strong relationship-building and networking skills, particularly in multi-stakeholder environments (corporates, NGOs, international donors).
