Sixty-eight rescue trips, save 271 wild animals of 30 different species and release 180 pangolins and carnivores
In 2022, SVW ran 68 rescue trips and saved 271 wild animals of 30 different species, including 44 pangolins. Seven surgeries (mainly limb amputations and tail amputation) operated successfully, and 34 animals requiring special medical treatment recovered fully. We worked hard to take care of 10 baby animals, including two small-clawed otters, seven infant leopard cats, and one 10-day-old Sunda pangolin, while there are 30 pangolins and carnivores stay in our care permanently. In addition, the facilities at our rescue centers have improved to ensure the best welfare for the animals.
Out of rescued animals, 97% have successfully recovered. We have released 180 pangolins and carnivores back into the protected areas over the past year. This large number contributes to the recovery of wildlife populations in Vietnam’s forests. Additionally, SVW has transferred 09 animals, including 07 tigers, to other qualified facilities for educational purposes.

for wildlife needs help, every second counts
Most animals are trafficked by illegal wildlife trade. As a result, they are weak and in poor health: injury from traps, overstuffing, dehydration, starvation, and stress from long transportation.
Many died before we arrive
…many were almost exhausted
…and die even though we tried our best to save their life…
THIS CHRISTMAS, DONATE TO RESCUE WILDLIFE
When rescued, animals need first aid, food, and water immediately before being transferred to the rescue center for a general health check and medical treatment. The faster we go, the more wildlife can be saved. Unfortunately, without your support, we are just “fast,” not “faster.”
