YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE FOR THE RESCUED OTTERS TODAY!
OTTERS ARE IN DANGER!
Otters are threatened by illegal hunting, trade, habitat loss, and pollution.
This November, Save Vietnam’s Wildlife welcomed 10 Asian Small-clawed Otters to our center. We also rescued one out of three individuals (two died before we arrived) last year.
When we found them, many were starving, dehydrated, injured … and frightened.
WHEN YOU DONATE, YOU ARE HELPING US TO RELEASE THEM BACK TO THE WILD!
Otters are social animals. They live in family groups in the wild. Although we are providing the best care possible at our center, these rescued otters are currently housed in very small concrete enclosures that form part of our facility’s quarantine block.
Long-term captivity in these enclosures will impact their health and welfare, and make it harder to release them.
Building enclosures simulating their natural habitat is the FIRST STEP to help them complete their rehabilitation, recover their instincts, and allow them to be released back to the wild sooner.
