In order to raise awareness of wildlife conservation among students through creative and effective activities, the core team of protecting Pu Mat forest and the club of join me to protect Pu Mat forest have proposed and implemented the installation of a set of tree-hanging signs at 06 schools: Mon Son 1, Chau Khe, Thi Tran primary schools; Luc Da, Con Cuong ethnic minority boarding secondary schools.

The signs are specially designed to resemble wild animals such as the Saola, Pangolin, Otter, Indochinese tiger, Asian elephant, Owston’s palm civet, Masked palm civet, Binturong, Leopard cat. Each sign provides information about the conservation status of each species, helping students and the community understand more about the animals that need protection.

In particular, each sign is integrated with a QR code, allowing readers to easily access additional materials, images, and videos about the species and to join the campaign to end illegal wildlife trade.

With 145 signs installed, the activity has reached over 2,433 students, along with a large number of teachers and parents. This initiative not only enhances awareness of nature conservation but also provides an opportunity for students and the community to engage in wildlife conservation efforts right on their school grounds.

This is one of the activities as part of the Nature and Wildlife Conservation Education Program. The program includes 07 components implemented throughout the two school years 2023 – 2024 and 2024 – 2025. The program is hosted by Save Vietnam’s Wildlife in coordination with Pu Mat National Park, the Department of Education and Training of Anh Son, Con Cuong, Tuong Duong districts to implement in 16 schools in the buffer zone.
